Quick answer
Jeep's owner's manuals list tire sizes by trim (for example 245/75R17 on the JL Sport, 255/70R18 on the Sahara and LT285/70R17C on the Rubicon) and the lug nut torque. They do not publish lift limits, fender clearance, axle ratios or bolt patterns, so this guide does not either. Diameters and speedometer figures are calculated from the tire size.

33 vs 35 vs 37 inch tires
Inch sizes such as 35x12.5R17 quote a nominal overall height. Metric sizes are calculated from width, aspect ratio and rim. Jeep's manuals list neither 35 nor 37 inch sizes. The inch to metric size table and the flotation tire converter translate between the two systems.

Checking a different size
- Jeep's manuals list specific sizes by trim and warn that using different size or type tires between the front and rear axles can cause unpredictable handling.
- The manuals do not publish lift limits, fender clearance, wheel backspacing, bolt pattern or axle ratios, so confirm those with a Jeep dealer, the wheel maker or the lift-kit maker.
- Use the calculator to see the height change, speedometer error and effective gear ratio for any size. Continental advises keeping rolling circumference within 3% of the original; this is not a Jeep specification. - Use the lug nut torque in the platform cards when installing wheels.
